Juvenile court is heard in a closed session at 5:00 p.m. on the 1st Tuesday of the month *This date is subject to change. Check your citation for the court date.
Municipal Court has jurisdiction for youth 12 through 16 years old. If the juvenile is 17 at the date/time of the initial appearance (not the date/time of the incident), he/she is considered an adult and will be heard in adult court at 5:30 p.m.
All Juvenile citations have a mandatory appearance which means the juvenile must appear. If the juvenile cannot make the date/time for the scheduled mandatory appearance, a parent/guardian should contact the court and request a continuance (reschedule).
If you were convicted as a juvenile, the debt is not relieved/cleared when you become an adult. It is still your responsibility to pay the judgment.
