The Seymour Police Department created the Canine Unit in 2018.  Funds were raised through donations from the community to create the program.  The program is able to operate through donations and ongoing fundraising events to sustain the program and plan for a future K9 when the current K9 retires.  Our current K9, K9 Attos is a dual trained German Shepherd.  K9 Attos is trained in apprehension/handler protection, tracking, article searches and controlled substances.  K9 Attos is trained to detect the odors of Marijuana, Heroin, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, and Ecstasy.
